Meet Mahek, the person behind Panāha Therapy

Hi, I'm Mahek Shringhey, an Expressive Arts Therapy (ExAT-P) and Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SE-P) working at the intersection of body, emotion, and creative expression. Additionally, as an Intimacy Coordinator for media and films, I help individuals and performers safely explore vulnerability, release emotional blocks, and build a deeper connection with themselves through guided, body-based and creative processes.

Driven by various curiosities that include the subliminal potential of the arts, the mind-body connection, and the diversity of the human experience, I adopt a person-centred, trauma-informed approach in my practice. My work integrates expressive arts therapy, somatic awareness, and intimacy-safe practices which are especially useful for those navigating trauma, stress, burnout, emotional overwhelm, or performance-based work.

I am a Mass Media Graduate with a major in Journalism from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, and have spent time in the media landscape before pivoting to mental health through a Diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai and a certification in Somatic Experiencing® (developed by Dr. Peter Levine).

When I came across Intimacy Coordination, I realised it was the perfect role that blended mental health, safety, creativity and storytelling for screen and stage. I received my certification from The Intimacy Lab and now through my offerings at Panāha, I bring layered experiences of self-reflection in a safe, brave space - both online and offline.
